Known for his roles in films such as Made in Dagenham, Maleficent, Oliver!, Valkyrie and Layer Cake for one night only Olivier Award winning actor Kenneth Cranham will grace the Brentwood Theatre stage to be interviewed about his journey from growing up in Brentwood to the stage of The National Theatre and beyond in an intimate evening where you will even get the chance to ask the questions.
Kenneth Cranham has been a major theatre, TV, radio and film actor for more than 50 years. In his early career after graduating from RADA he worked and became friends with the playwright Joe Orton as he did later on with Harold Pinter, appearing in a number of his plays including The Caretaker and The Homecoming on stage and on TV with Pinter himself in The Birthday Party. In the 1980’s Ken became known to a wider audience in the TV series of Shine on Harvey Moon which is still enjoyed to this day being available on DVD. In the early 90’s Ken appeared in the ground breaking National Theatre production of An Inspector Calls which subsequently enjoyed great success in the West End and on tour in America. In 2015 Ken achieved his first Olivier award for Best Actor in The Father in which he movingly portrayed a man with Alzheimer’s disease.
