William Shakespeare’s Henry V
The death of a monarch. Civil unrest. Foreign disputes… Sound familiar?
A controversial ruler has died. Decades of infighting have left a scarred and divided kingdom. And an inexperienced young prince inherits the throne.
When the new King Henry receives a humiliating insult from across the Channel, he launches England into full-scale war with France. Is this a masterstroke of military strategy, or the reckless pride of a petulant child?
Vastly outnumbered on the fields of France, one decisive battle will cement the name of Henry V into the history books. But will he be remembered as a national hero or historic disaster?
Our scene is set. Join us for a contemporary take on Shakespeare’s Henry V from 1.4.9 Productions.
