To mark the centenary of the end of World War One Artless presents: ‘To War With God’.

In the horror of the trenches a young chaplain stands with his men, tending their bruised and battered faith. Little did they know, his was long since lost; buried amongst the mud, blood and mortar shells.

Based on the book by Peter Fiennes, To War With God is a feature length stage production that follows the life of Monty Guilford, a chaplain in the First World War; from the carnage of his first days at The Somme to his return to a grieving nation. Could his faith ever be the same again? Would his wounds ever heal?

Artless’ latest production grapples with some of the biggest questions of faith and suffering.
