Come along and say hello at ‘Lighting Up Brentwood’

Tomorrow, Saturday 30th November, the Brentwood Theatre staff will be out to say hello at Lighting Up Brentwood.
Lighting Up Brentwood is the largest community event on the Council’s calendar and the event, which is held around Brentwood High Street, celebrates the start of the festive season. There are three stages this year as well as almost 80 market stalls selling festive arts and crafts, and hot food and drink, together with Santa’s Grotto, walkabout acts and other children’s activities.
It’s a great opportunity to speak to us and find out more about The Boy Who Called Wolf!

The Brentwood Belles AKA “The Happy Hookers” Yarnbomb the Theatre tree.

Not the name that Brentwood Theatre has bestowed on the clever women from the “Brentwood Belles” but their own tongue in cheek nickname. The poster boy (made by the clever Becky) and sheep (made by the talented Tricia) for our Christmas production, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, will be displayed as part of the festivities. They are also creating  a huge flock of sheep, a forest of knitted trees and some tiny knitted garments as part of their Christmas yarnbombing!

Be sure to check out the tree outside the theatre in the run up to Christmas.

The Belles, also spent time during a recent meeting to make pompoms to add to the tree.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf is surely one of Aesop’s best known fables, albeit a very short one. This fabulous theatre company “Tutti Frutti” has managed to spin and create a truly heartwarming story that will keep the attention of old and young alike.

Don’t miss out on this tale of a bother of a boy, a mithered mother and a grand old brass band of a granddad. All set in the village of knitters with fingers flicking, needles clicking and where every new jumper tells a tale!
