An Evening with Florence Sommerville & Friends

To celebrate the release of her latest single, California, Orsett-born, Essex country singer Florence Sommerville, along with her acclaimed band, has invited musical guests from Henry Webb-Jenkins and Jodie McKay to present a fast-moving entertaining show of modern country music to suit all ages.

There’s a raw rootsy quality to Florence Sommerville’s music that belies her youthfulness. She isn’t the next ready-made country star beauty figure Barbie doll. She exhibits a surety of mind beyond her years, to create music that connects and inspires, and that will inflame a growing fire. An assured performer, she takes total command of any stage from the outset and allows her crystalline vocals to shine on her well-crafted original songs and carefully curated covers.

HENRY WEBB-JENKINS is a talented multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from North London who has been making quite an impact over the last few years. He tours regularly, globally, especially across Europe, performing his heartfelt songs.

JODIE McKAY is a well-known singer-songwriter from an Essex country music family. Her father, Steve Mitchell, led the popular 1970s band Shiloh. Her brother, Glen Mitchell, is well established on the Nashville music scene and her husband Rick McKay, has been treading the boards playing country and rockabilly music and is best known for his portrayal of both Johnny Cash and Garth Brooks. For many years Jodie has portrayed June Carter Cash in a Johnny Cash tribute show, and is renowned for her storytelling through music.
