People of Steel Ukrainian Film Screening

“People of Steel” is a gripping and unforgettable documentary that brings one of the most important stories of the war in Ukraine to the screen. For the first time in the UK, audiences will have the chance to witness the heroic defence of Mariupol and the legendary Azovstal steel plant through real frontline footage and emotional firsthand testimonies of the soldiers who survived the siege.

Featuring the voices of Denys Prokopenko, Illia Samoilenko, Orest Kozatskyi, Igor Benzeruk, Alla Bereznytska, and the late Olena Kushnir, the film reveals the unimaginable brutality of the Russian invasion—and the extraordinary courage of the men and women who refused to surrender.

“People of Steel” is not just a war documentary.
It is a story of resilience, sacrifice, and the unbreakable human spirit.

For British audiences, this film offers a rare and deeply human look into a battle that reshaped the world and continues to define Europe’s security today. It provides an opportunity to understand what Ukrainians endured and why their fight for freedom matters to all of us.

Join us for a powerful screening that honours the defenders of Mariupol and supports greater awareness of Ukraine’s struggle for justice and peace.
