A London Love Story

Revolving around the music of the legendary ska band, Madness, Our House is a very British musical.
Set in Camden Town, this hilarious and heart-warming musical tells the story of London lad Joe Casey, who, on the night of his sixteenth birthday, takes Sarah – the girl of his dreams – out on their first date. In an effort to impress her with his bravado, Joe breaks into a building site overlooking his home on Casey Street to show Sarah the view over north London. When the police arrive, Joes faces an agonising decision – run, or stay and face the consequences. Joe’s life splits in two and we witness the fortunes, and misfortunes of Good Joe and Bad Joe. Two parallel stories unfold and build towards an explosive climax.

Featuring all your favourite Madness hits including House of Fun, Baggy Trousers, Driving In My Car, It Must Be Love, Night Boat to Cairo and of course Our House, this toe-tapping show will have you dancing in the aisles and is a great show to share with friends.

Our House by Tim Firth has music and lyrics by Madness and was the winner of the 2003 Olivier award for Best New Musical and has since gone on to tour both nationally and internationally to great acclaim. Through the music of Madness, writer Tim Firth explores the themes of love, family values, growing up, responsibility and dealing with losing the people that shape us.

OUR HOUSE was first produced at the Cambridge Theatre, London on 28th October 2002. Producers were Tiger Aspect Productions, Rupert Lord, Andre Ptaszynski and Phil McIntyre in association with Madness. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International

Now only a secret organisation known as the Ancient Guild of TaleTenders can save the stories – and they need your help… 

Join Terry Tibblestick from the ancient guild of TaleTenders and his assistant Brenda Bogg. We learn all about what taletending involves and how to look after stories.  TaleTenders have existed since the beginning of time and their one job is to remember and recall all the words of their storyteller-but maybe Terry hasn’t been as diligent as he could have been?  

Follow Brenda’s journey as she reveals her discovery of the missing words, sparking danger that they are being eaten by the dreaded Wurblegobblers. Help her as she tries to convince Terry of the real and present danger the stories are in as she challenges him to see if he’s been protecting and preserving the stories, as she tries to restore the words to the books using imagination, play and a heart full of tenderness. 

Especially made for ages 5 and up, the show develops both creative and literacy skills through performance, games, and creative play, while exploring Roald Dahl’s extraordinary stories, including The BFG and The Twits along the way

The smash-hit musical performed by Brentwood’s stars of the future.

BOSSY, Brentwood’s only dedicated musical theatre company for young people with charity status, once again returns to the Brentwood Theatre with the smash-hit ‘Footloose’.

Footloose is the story of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago. He and his mother move to the small town of Bomont after his father abandons them. Upon arriving, Ren finds himself at odds with most of the town, including the Reverend Bomont. The Reverend has convinced the town to outlaw dancing, which Ren finds unbelievable. With the help of the Ariel (the Reverend’s daughter) and Willard (a country hick who becomes his best friend), Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all.
