The death of a monarch. Civil unrest. Foreign disputes… Sound familiar?

A controversial ruler has died. Decades of infighting have left a scarred and divided kingdom. And an inexperienced young prince inherits the throne.

When the new King Henry receives a humiliating insult from across the Channel, he launches England into full-scale war with France. Is this a masterstroke of military strategy, or the reckless pride of a petulant child?

Vastly outnumbered on the fields of France, one decisive battle will cement the name of Henry V into the history books. But will he be remembered as a national hero or historic disaster?

Dickens Theatre Company are back at Brentwood Theatre this October, doing what they do best, putting their unique stamp on another classic GCSE English literature text.

After the success of Macbeth, A Christmas Carol and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, DTC return with a fresh Shakespearian adaptation from writer/ director Ryan Philpott.

Romeo & Juliet is presented as part of DTC’s “Revision on Tour” and breathes new life and wit into Shakespeare’s classic tale of “two star-crossed lovers”.

These shows are perfect for schools and students studying these texts but equally excellent adaptations for all theatre enthusiasts.

This fresh new adaptation of the ‘Scottish Play’ arrives in Brentwood.

An ensemble of actors create a cauldron of characters, as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth make their perilous descent towards Hell. Set against a back-drop of wars, witchery and treasonous plotting, Shakespeare’s ambitious Macbeth remains ominously relevant in the 21st Century.

Dickens Theatre Company has been successfully staging classic English literature texts for the UK stage since 2015.

As part of DTC’s ‘Revision on Tour’ (alongside Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde), this Macbeth entertains and educates… to the bitter end.
